NEW LOCAL BUSINESS BRINGS HELP FOR SENIORS

Senior citizens got a welcome addition to the neighborhood when The Senior Store in Bellmawr opened its doors for the first time last month. The Senior Store is a new local business whose mission is to help seniors better understand their heath and financial options. Partners in this venture, Patricia MacAdams, Melissa Dykstra, Nancy Hering and Kay Mills were all working with seniors in their various careers in the health and life insurance fields, and decided to combine their 50+ years of experience. The four CMS certified and licensed independent insurance agents joined forces to give local seniors a resource center to call or visit to get the answers to the questions plaguing so many.

Invited guests to the grand opening included local professionals who work specifically with seniors. They were happy to supply the lobby with a wealth of brochures and information about the various products and services they provide to area seniors. Bellmawr Mayor Frank Filipek was on hand to do the official ribbon cutting honors, and one of our nation’s famous historical seniors, Benjamin Franklin, (Ward Larkin, professional impersonator) was there to meet and greet the guests.

The Senior Store was located at 32 E. Browning Road in Bellmawr, and they welcome both walk-ins and appointments. They will gladly make house calls as well. They do not charge a fee for any of their services, and can assist anyone in residing in New Jersey, Delaware and Pennsylvania.

Our new location is: 513 N. Black Horse Pike, Runnemede, NJ 08078

I am delighted to have found this site. You are all such a blessing to so so many. But I’m sure you already know that. Caring for seniors has been a life long dream of mine. As a young child I always wanted to be around my grandmother and her friends. And I would do things for them. Mostly entertain them with my non- singing voice and old guitar. I was visiting with my Nanna one day very recently to help her with finding resources and looking to see what programs she was eligible for and she told me about the Senior Store. It really blesses me to hear what you all are doing for our senior population. I was the resource/ Senior Coordinator for the Hispanic Center (S.A.S.C.A.) for 5 years. After that I worked for 14 years as the Director of Constituent Services for Senator Diane Allen. Prior to working those jobs I worked at Medford Leas and the Masonic Home and also did HHA work under Moorestown Visiting Nurses. Let me know if you’re ever in need of volunteers. Thank you fit what you do and may God bless each and every one of you women. Sincerely, Anna
